SUMMARY:The Watchful Leader
DESCRIPTION:  \nWorkshop Overview\nFor leaders to efficiently manage their team; delegate tasks effectively\, and support\, coach or direct team members; they need to be watchful\, alert and sensitive to changes in their performance\, their ability\, and their readiness. \nThe Situational Leadership® Model is a timeless framework that teaches leaders how to match their leadership behaviors with the performance needs of the individual or group that they are attempting to influence.  \nThe framework analyzes each leadership situation in light of 1) the Performance Readiness Level of the individual\, and 2) a Specific Task or Objective. Based on those two factors\, a leader is then able to consciously choose the best leadership style and communication approach that  supports the needs of that individual\, to yield the best performance and business results.  \nParticipants not only learn the theory step-by-step\, and practice different tools; they also put themselves to the test in an online simulation (iLead) with real-life characters in a business context (details to follow). \n  \nilead Simulation overview\nFor 90 minutes\, attending managers\, individually\, play iLead simulation. Each participant takes the role of the newly appointed sales team manager of LevoB10\, whose predecessor was a complete misfit & left the team in shatters\, and who top management is having high expectations of to uplift the team & achieve the set target. \nThroughout the simulation\, participants need to adopt the appropriate leadership style with team members who are equipped with different skills and motivation levels. Packed with intense events and scenarios that a leader will face\, iLead simulation tests the participants’ adaptability and leadership styles in adverse situations. \nThe simulation is followed by another 90 minutes de-brief\, tackling the leadership styles\, Skill/Will matrix\, and when to use each style with which employee. This is in addition to orienting the managers on their report results that were generated by the system\, based on their performance in the simulation. \n  \nLearning Outcomes\n\nExplain why there is no one best leadership style; and how leadership style is driven by the situation\nUse a common vocabulary for leadership\nEmploy the three skills of a situational leader: Task assigning\, Diagnosing\, and Matching\nDistinguish the positive outcomes of matching leadership style to the situation\nDistinguish the negative outcomes of mismatching leadership style to situation\nCreate an action plan for improving your situational leadership effectiveness\nExamine a variety of leadership styles depending on the situation at hand\nObserve and analyze the impact of your actions instantly\nAssess your report results\, and identify actionable insights to implement in real life\n\n  \nWorkshop Content\nThe Need for and Value of Situational Leadership \n\nImportance of leadership and the leader’s role to develop others\nThe potential value of situational leadership\nThree skills and six conversations \n\nTask Assignment – The First Skill of a Situational Leader \n\nFormulating a clear task\nIdentifying the needed task competencies \n\nDiagnosing – The Second Skill of a Situational Leader \n\nDefine the skill of diagnosing\nTwo components of diagnosing: Competence and Commitment\nThe four developmental levels\nUnderstand the collaborative nature of diagnosing\nResolving disagreements about development level\nApply the skill of diagnosing to in real-world\n\nMatching – The Third Skill of a Situational Leader \n\nThe four leadership styles and the two component behaviors\nDirection and Support\nLeadership behaviors associated with direction and support\nMatching leadership style to development level\n\n  \nilead Simulation & De-brief\nUpon completion of the simulation\, a personalized report is generated for each participant as per their performance in the simulation\, and around which the de-brief is mainly built. The report includes the following: \n\nParticipant’s dominant leadership style from the four styles\nParticipant’s leadership styles distribution\nTheir adaptive leadership capability as demonstrated in the different situations within the simulation\nDemonstrated consistency between leadership intent and actual actions\nEffectiveness of the chosen actions versus their generated results\n\n  \nWho should attend?\nManagers of all levels \nWorkshop Fees: EGP 5\,200\n
